May Favourites 2015

Hey Guys,

Monthly favourites come around so quickly, but I'm so excited that it's June tomorrow! I've been obsessing over watermelons and pineapples lately and it's been getting me in the Summer spirit already, I'm so excited!

Here are my favourites for May:

*Fuji Green Tea Shower Gel - The Body Shop - £6.00
When I found this new range at The Body Shop I couldn't leave the shop without buying something from the range. At first I wasn't entirely sure about the whole 'green tea' scent but I thought why not give it a go, and I'm so glad I did. It's got a really nice scent which to me smells a bit like Mint. It's also a cleanse and detox, so it's easy to wash away all of the stresses of the day and makes you feel refreshed. Lovely :)

*Nivea Fruity Shine Watermelon Lip Balm - Superdrug - £2.49
Here's something already to do with watermelon! I'm in love with this lip balm, it's really moisturising and makes your lips shine. I have to smell this a couple of times before and after using it because the smell of watermelon is wonderful!

*Revolution Lipsticks - Superdrug - £1.00 each
In my local Superdrug (which I appear to go in quite a lot) had a makeup brand called NYC as you may guess that I always got my nail polish and sometimes mascara from there. However recently Superdrug have taken out NYC :( and replaced it with Revolution, at first I was a little sad about it, but after trying a few products...Wow! I'm in love! My favourite lipsticks at the moment are the shades Nude and Chic.

*Nivea Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes - Boots - £2.59
I love how refreshing and clean my skin feels after I've wiped away my makeup. I've used quite a lot of 'dry skin' wipes and I'm liking the Nivea wipes more than the ones I've used.

*Simple Eye Balm - Superdrug - £3.99
Lip balm, eye balm, I have it all haha! I love how this eye balm reduces puffiness and makes my eyes look less tired and dry. I can go a whole day without worrying about my eyes looking dull and tired anymore. Why haven't I used this product before?!

*NYC Luminizer - Superdrug - £3.99
I decided to bring this product back and start using it again. It's a bit lighter than my normal foundation so I'm using it just to highlight the places that will catch the light and improve natural radiance. I'm really loving this and I'm so glad that other stores are still doing NYC so my NYC makeup experience isn't over and I can buy this again!

*Indian Ocean Models Own - Models Own - £4.99
This nail polish! Oh my god! So at first I thought it was just a simple blue shimmery colour but then I started putting the colour on top of purple nail polish and other colours that I like to wear and this Indian Ocean nail polish changes shimmer colour!! On some colours it will look like a blue shimmer and on other's it will look like a gold shimmer! I really love this colour with purple as it makes it look all mermaid like. I'm seriously having so much fun putting this colour on top of every nail colour I wear. Definitely a must have!

I hope you enjoyed this months monthly favourites. I can't wait to see what June has to offer!

New Look - Summer Wishlist 2015

Hello There,

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday!

June is right round the corner and Summer is almost here yay! I was going to do this as a Spring Wishlist a while ago but around the time I was browsing on the website I thought I would wear the clothes more in the Summer, which is why I decided to postpone the post and combine it with Summer!

My Spring/Summer Wishlist

*Dress - £22.99
I always like to wear a nice flowy dress in the Summer, whether it's going to the beach or just going out with friends, I like to stay cool with a pretty dress when it's hot outside. I have something fairly similar to this only instead of the floral bottom mines just white the same as the top.

*Orange Top - £4.99
This top comes in so many colours ah! I really like this orange colour, in fact I've become overly obsessed with this colour lately, and bright colours are great for the Summer!!

*Floral Kimono - £19.99
I'm also loving Kimono's lately. You can get so many patterns and designs that it makes it so hard to choose one. I know I said I was staying well away from the black this Summer but I couldn't help falling in love with this black kimono with bright blue flowers on it, they just caught my eye!

*Mint Bag - £17.99
I'm really loving the colour of this bag. It comes in other colours such as white, yellow and dark blue. However it doesn't quite look mint to me, but it still is a nice colour for the Summer. I may have to purchase it on my next outing!

*Hair Bow - £2.99
I have so many hair accessories. I have one for nearly every occasion, and there's even some for rainy days. Always prepared! Judging by my wishlist I think you could guess that I'm really loving the mint/light blue colour trend haha.

*Blue Top 915 Generation - £19.99
Loving the blue again! I always find these tops comfortable to wear on a chilled day. I'd probably also pair this with a kimono as well. I wasn't a fan of buying plain tops because they were just well...plain so I was always the one to buy a graphic top, and now this year I'm loving all of these bright Summery colours that I can't help myself now.

*Bikini 915 Generation - £9.99
This bikini is perfect for a holiday! I'm not going on holiday this year :( but a girl can dream!

*Lilac Bag - £22.99
I love the fact that this bag is a rucksack! How mega cute! I've always liked these sort of rucksacks but never really liked the designs most shops done and then this bag appeared, and let's not forget to mention how many colours there was to choose from. I'm 100% with this lilac colour. This bag would be really good to take on holiday. It's big enough to put all of your essentials.

Can't decide between this lilac bag and the mint bag! :(

*Blue Sandals 915 Generation - £19.99
Oh blue again? haha. These sandals would go well this the blue top I found. It's always nice to ditch the black winter boots and bring out all the bright coloured shoes and sandals. Bright colours make people happy :)

It was only until halfway through this post I realised that I was obsessed with the colour blue. What's your Summer colour?
It's nearly Summer!!!! :)
Enjoy your day and I shall see you in my next post,

Prom Hair Tutorial

Hey Guys,

After posting about the hair show and prom being round the corner for some of you, I thought it would be a good idea to do a prom hair tutorial! I got my sally head out and practiced a few hair styles so there might be a load more tutorials to come.

As much as I hate the sally head hair as it isn't 100% human hair, I sometimes find it hard to style the hair, but I gave it my best shot! It refused to curl but I finally managed it!

How to:

You will need:
*Curling Wand/Straighteners
*Heat protector
*Hair elastic bands
*Prom hair accessory
*Brush

1.) This step is pretty straight forward. Curl your hair :)

2.) Next you want to take a section from both sides and tie it off at the back. So you have something like the photo.

3.) Then you place your fingers under the elastic band making a hole and then put the small ponytail through it so it flips back on itself.

4.) You then want to do the same again, creating a small ponytail underneath the first one and also pulling it through the first ponytail hole. I did this about 4 times to create a nice twisted look.

5.) Add your hair accessory

This hair style is so simple and easy to do. So if you are struggling with what hairstyle to do for prom or wanted to have it curly but didn't know what else to do with your hair, then give this hairstyle a go! You will look beautiful :)

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I hope that you try it. If you do I would love to see your photos, so upload your photo to Instagram and tag @jessicarachelxo so I can see them!
Have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,

New Look | Spring OOTD

Hey Guys,

Finally I've done an OOTD post! In Spring I think it's definitely the time to wear floral, even if it's a flower hair accessory or a flower necklace, it's always nice to wear something floral for this season and here's my outfit :)

*Top - New Look - £9.99
*Floral Kimono - 915 Generation New Look - £12.99
*Watermark Jeans - New Look - £22.99
*Shoes - 915 Generation New Look - £17.99

And I've finally ditched the black and brought a bit of colour into my fashion life. New Look is one of my favourite shops so a majority of my wardrobe is pretty much New Look! It wasn't until I put this outfit on that I thought I pretty much own the shop haha!
The watermark jeans are quite different for me, normally I just wear plain black jeans so this was a change, and I liked it! I paired the jeans with a pink lightweight top that has a crochet pattern on the hem and then I wore my floral kimono on top to give the outfit a bit more colour. For shoes I just wore my black ones that I got back in March, I was going to wear sandals but it was a bit too cold for that, but I can't wait to wear sandals with this outfit.
I also used my grey bag as well today that I got from New Look haha! Is that bad?

I'm just really loving floral at the moment!
I hope you enjoyed this post, did you enjoy it? Let me know and then I can do more for you guys :)
I was thinking about doing some prom related posts as well, so keep an eye out for that.
Have a lovely weekend and I shall see you in my next post,

How To Study For Exams

Hey Guys,

It's pretty much exam season now and seeing as I've been through it all before I thought I would share some helpful tips on how to study for your exams

Everyone dreads the thought of taking exams. It's one of many powerful things that takes over your mind with panic and leads to a lot of stress, but with a few tips from here you shouldn't have a problem!

The main key to passing your exams is to REVISE. People will tell you time and time again that you need to revise constantly. So here are a few ways you can revise!

*Write things on sticky notes
Use certain colours for different topics, that way you'll remember that pink indicates Algebra! And then stick them around your room.

*Make sure you take away distractions!
Turn your phone off and put it somewhere where you won't be tempted to look at it. Turn all electronic devices off and turn your brain on ;)

*When highlighting make sure you only highlight the keywords and points.
Some people go mad and highlight the whole paragraph but this isn't needed.

Correct
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. Although not the largest natural satellite in the Solar System, among the satellites of major planets it is the largest relative to the size of the object it orbits.

*Use your text book and useful websites to help
Take notes from your text book and use a good and reliable website to help you as well. Don't use Wikipedia! You can also find useful revision books that can help you which are available in WhSmiths.

*Quiz yourself with family or friends
Your text book and revision book has questions to test you on what you know. Once you have revised a topic, answer a few questions about the topic. You could write the questions on one side of a cue card and then write the answer on the back and the give the cards to a family member or friend to test you. You could even play a game where you write the questions on a pink cue card and the answers on a blue cue car and you have to match them up. That way you're ready for any question to be thrown at you!

*Make a plan!
It's always good to make an exam calendar. I made one when I was taking exams and it felt so good to be organised. Just write down when your exams are on the calendar and then write when you feel is best to revise for the exam. You can give yourself a days rest of course. Make sure you give yourself adequate timings for revision, you could follow your original school time table if you like.

*Take breaks!
Make sure you always take a break. If you feel like stress is getting to you then take a 15 minute break to wind down a little. It's always good to give yourself a break, it's rewarding and you can concentrate more.

*Make studying fun
Be creative with your studies. You could write songs to help you remember the order of things. There's always a way to remember something even if you have to make something silly up, it really helps you and even others when helping each other.

*Keep yourself hydrated!
Keeping hydrated is mega important whether you're revising or not but this keeps you going for longer and really helps you concentrate, just be careful not to spill it!

I hoped this helped you and took your mind at ease for your on coming exams. You have nothing to worry about. A little bit of revision goes a long way.
Have any other useful studying tips? Share in the comments below what you do to help you study.

I wish you all the best of luck!
I hope you have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,
