February Favourites 2015

Hey Guys,

It's that time of month again. I genuinely can't believe how fast it comes for a monthly favourite, it seriously creeps up on you.

For this month my favourites are:

This Mark Hill Diamond Shine Spray is quite an old product. My sister was cleaning out her closet one day and came across a load of products she no longer wanted and gave a few to me and this happened to be one of the products. At first I was quite eager to use this product because I've never used a shine spray in my hair before, and as I dye the ends of my hair a lot this spray is brilliant for making it more noticeable! I sprayed this to the ends of my hair as well as the top and it was great to know that it doesn't apply like a hairspray, so it doesn't make your hair look greasy! I also like that you can look in the mirror and notice a before and after, so I've been enjoying using this. It was from Boots as that's where most of the Mark Hill products are but this one has seemed to have been discontinued which is ashame.

Yeah, you could probably say I'm a little obsessed with facial washes! It's always through Winter where I find my skin being extremely dry so having the correct facial wash is essential for Winter. This month I have been using Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash that I got from Superdrug for £1.49, but I'm sure you can buy it nearly anywhere. I find it leaves your skin so soft and clear and I always find that Simple products are very gentle on the skin so I like this product for that reason. I also like that when you apply the product into your hands it's not fast flowing so you can't waste the product which means it's long lasting.

I've been having an obsession with Argan Oil recently and I don't really know why. I found this Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco in Superdrug for £6.99, but I've also seen it in Tesco so it's available elsewhere. However with this product there's only one thing that's negative about it. I love how Argan Oil is really moisturising for your hair, I apply it to my hair every time I've washed it before drying, it doesn't leave your hair greasy at all, because I know the thought of putting oil into your hair can give the impression of making your hair look greasy but honestly this product doesn't. I also like how it's very long lasting, I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it doesn't even look like I've touched it, so I recon it will last me a couple of months. The only thing I don't like about this product is how oily it is, I know it's an oil but it drips down the bottle and it's all over your hands and you know how oil can be all slimy which I don't like it so I find my self wiping the bottle and washing my hands after every use, but I'll definitely use this product more.

I bought this perfume in the Boxing Day sales in Boots for £14.99. If you remember I got the Taylor Swift 1989 album for Christmas, and yes... It's still playing in my car! I really love the smell of her perfume and that goes for any of her perfumes. I'd say that her Wonderstruck is the better smelling perfume but I couldn't resist not buying this Taylor perfume as it was in the clearance sale.
Hello Argan Oil again! I really wanted to try this as I was really impressed with the oil. I found the Shampoo and Conditioner in Asda for £1.00 each! Cheap! I just really like the way Argan Oil leaves your hair feeling so soft and smooth and definitely feels 100% hydrated! So I enjoyed using these, I don't use them all the time because I feel the shampoo doesn't really lather up as much as what I'm used to but I'll still use them.

And that's it for my February Favourites! I hope you enjoyed the few products I chose. I have a few new products that I can't wait to try for March. Still can't believe it's March tomorrow! Finally say Goodbye to Winter and Hello to Spring and then it will be Summer before we know it! Yay!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I shall see you in my next post,

New Reads

Hey Guys,

Just a quick update to share with you what I am currently reading at the moment!

So after finishing and reviewing Let It Snow, I decided to read one of Gayle Forman's books. However I couldn't just buy one of the books, I had to buy the whole collection! The collection starts with If I Stay followed by Where She Went and then I Was Here. I've only recently come across these books and I've already started If I Stay, I'm enjoying it so far which is good! I bought these books because, well I'm someone who looks at the front cover and thinks 'well that looks cool, must be a good book' and I just love how the photos are in grid form and they either make up a photo as a grid or they are different! And then I read the blurb which reading this one was quite truly up my street! Then of course I had to buy the others because a story is not complete without the proper ending!

The book has also been made into a film so you can watch the trailer here. I was a little hesitant whether to watch the film first but I've decided to read the book first. At first the book comes across a little confusing, but in a way it's very unique and I can't wait to find out what happens! Wish I came across it sooner now.

I hope you enjoyed this short little update on the current book/s I am reading. If you have read or are reading these books let me know in the comments what you thought or think about them!

Enjoy the rest of your day and I shall see you in my next post,

Jessica xo

The Versatile Blogger Award

I was nominated by Tania Garcia, so thank you Tania! You can check out her blog here

The rules are: Give 7 facts about yourself and then nominate a further 15 people for the award.
This is a nice way to find out a little more about me!

1.) I've always been a musical person. For 6 years I taught my self how to play the acoustic guitar. I was inspired by Tiffany Alvord on YouTube to play and 6 years later I'm still playing. She flew from California to London UK in July 2013 and I was lucky enough to meet her! Words cannot describe how happy I was when I met her, it changed everything! I actually met the person who changed my life haha and here's a picture of me with Tiffany Alvord! Learning the Guitar lead on to me teaching myself how to play the ukulele, drums and piano. I do tend to sing along whilst playing but I wouldn't say I'm that great!

2.) I'm obsessed with cats and I show it! I have a pet cat and she has one ear. We aren't to sure what exactly happened but one morning she came in from the garden in search for help. She came across me first at the top of the stairs and I noticed her eye was a bit droopy, she then turned to me and meow'ed and I noticed her ear was literally hanging off! My dad was sorting out the electrics at the time so I picked my cat up and started yelling at my dad to look at the cat. We then took her to the vets where they removed her ear and 9 years later I still have my little fluffy, miserable pumpkin, Sox!

3.) I'm currently watching Orange Is The New Black on Netflix and I am obsessed with it!

4.) Another obsession I have is Disney! I love everything that is Disney. Every time I go shopping in my favourite shopping mall The Disney Store is most certainly at the top of my shopping list!

5.) I'm half Italian, though my Italian isn't very good. I only know the basics. We travel to Italy once a year to see family.

6.) I love working out! I workout every day. I'm currently doing the 30 day flat abs challenge which I've actually restarted as Day 30 was Valentine's Day and I decided to start it again with the new challenge which is the 30 day butt lift challenge. I do most of Blogilates workouts on YouTube and find that her workouts are definitely killers but that way I know that I'm working hard! Train insane or remain the same!

7.) I've always wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand and I've also always wanted to visit California and New York, would be crazy!

I now nominate:
Kelsey and Kenecha from http://floralsandsmiles.blogspot.ca/
And my friend Valentina, a new blogger, her website link will be coming soon!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I shall see you in my next post!

The Grey Wishlist

Hey Guys,

How are we all?
I've recently had an obsession with the colour Grey, I don't know why, it just seems to be my Winter colour. I always wear grey nail polish mostly in Winter and when New Look released their new 'Grey' collection I couldn't help myself but to do a wishlist for it! If you haven't noticed already, New Look is my number one clothing shop where I buy most of my clothes from so New Look will be mentioned a lot in this post so I do apologize in advance!

Where do I start?
Top Row!

*Square Crop Top - New Look for £12.99.
I was looking on the New Look website and as soon as I saw this top I fell in love! I think this top would make a great going out top, I can think of so many outfits I could make with this top, I love it.

*Grey Bag - New Look for £29.99.
I actually walked past this in the shop and it was pretty much love at first sight. I love how it's the perfect size bag, not too big and not too small, just right. It's ideal for days out shopping or taking it to work. It's smart and elegant and I love the mix shade of grey and purple together, really gives the bag some character. I wasn't sure about the handle at first as it was a snake skin kind of effect, but it's really grown to me. Definitely my next purchase.

*Grey Dress - sheinside.com for £12.95. You can get it here.
I found this pretty grey dress on the sheinside website. Looking around in other clothing stores I've realised that these sort of dresses are coming into fashion a bit more and having a grey one would be perfect! Though I don't want it to come across as a bit like school uniform so I'm having second thoughts about it, haha.

*Cat Jumper - sheinside.com for £16.30. You can get it here.
If you know me well you'll know that I'm madly obsessed with cats and I don't even know why. No matter what a cat will just make me smile. When I found this jumper with the cat on it I smiled, turns out even just a cat on a jumper can make me smile! I even love that it has a collar. What I love most is wearing a blouse with a jumper, so this jumper is definitely a must have!

*Grey Blouse - New Look for £17.99.
Like I mentioned above, I really like to wear blouses. I tend to wear a few coloured blouses but I've never had a grey one. I think grey would be a bit different. I found this blouse on the New Look website and it just so happens to come in 8 different colours! That's more colours for me to buy!

*Boots - New Look for £59.99.
Do you ever go shopping and find something you love so much that you don't take notice of the price? I've never fallen so in love with a pair of boots before and when I realized the price I was shocked at first, but the 'real leather' tab made it obvious as to why these boots were so pricey. I think these boots are absolutely adorable!

*Jumper - New Look for £12.99.
Turtle necks are beginning to come back into fashion I think, I never used to really see anyone wear them and they've definitely popped up in shops more. I think this cosy grey one would be nice to chill in on those cold Wintry days with a hot chocolate and book to read. Makes me feel cosy already!

I hope you enjoyed my grey themed wishlist. I think I will do a themed or colour wishlist every so often, maybe to go with the season colours, or just in general more wishlists! I can't believe we are nearly at the end of February already, this year needs to slow down!

Have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post

February Mini Haul

Hey Guys,

So I went shopping again, and like the 'January Mini Haul' I thought I would do one for February as well. This may well be a monthly thing, we shall see how it goes. I hope you enjoy this post!

So here are some of the things that I bought during the month of February.

*Smoky Poppy Shower Gel - £4.00 and Body Butter - £13.00 from The Body Shop.
I absolutely love these products. I bought them just before Valentine's Day as the Smoky Poppy was part of their Valentine's range. I first tried the shower gel and I thought it smelled amazingly of poppies. The soft dark blue shower gel really lingers the smell of poppies. It's so different compared to the fruit scent shower gels.
After using the shower gel I then applied the body butter, and this body butter really does leave you smelling like poppies. I woke up the next morning and I could still smell the poppies, so it lingers for a long time. I wouldn't use this all the time because I'm not a fan of smelling of flowers, I like a mixture of fruit scents as they all have a unique scent.

*Sally Hansen I Pink I Can nail polish - £6.99 from Superdrug.
I always found myself walking past this brand but when a popular Instagram page showed this amazing colour I realized 'Hey I've seen that sort of nail polish before' so I went back to Superdrug and tried to find this beautiful colour. Unfortunately I didn't manage to find the colour so I ended up getting a similar colour called 'I Pink I Can' which is such a great name for a pink nail polish! I've only worn it once so I'll wear it a couple more times and then decide if I'll get more of her colours.

*Silver Watch - £13.00 from Claire's Accessories.
I've been hunting for a watch for ages! It didn't have to be anything fancy, just as long as it was pretty and the numbers were visible then it's fine and when I found this watch in Claire's Accessories I just had to buy it! I had to get it fitted so I could wear it, but that wasn't a problem at all, I love wearing it.

*Glass Nail File - 69p from Savers.
I've been in love with the glass nail files recently as you may know and I couldn't believe that I found 2 of these Christmassy glass nail files in Savers for just 69p! 69p for both of them! Crazy! I gave one to my sister and I kept the other one. I just love how a glass nail file files, it's so smooth and I find it so much better than a normal nail file and I love how ridiculously cheap they are! I'm definitely going back for more.

*Disney T-Shirts - £6.00 each from Primark.
I think everyone just about knows how obsessed I am with Disney. When I found these T-shirts I was honestly like 'Yes! Buy, buy, buy!' So I did. I can't wait to wear them, I might even wear them as pjs. They are quite similar to the Frozen t-shirt that my sister got me for my birthday, so I've got my self a neat collection coming along nicely. ;)

And that's some of the few things I bought in February! What was your favourite? Mine was definitely the watch.
I hope you have a lovely day and I'll see you in my next post

Book Review - Let It Snow

Hey Guys,

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day! To finish off the love of Valentine's I thought I'd do a review on the book I was reading, if you follow my blog you may already know that I was reading this book at Christmas as it was Christmas themed, I managed to finish the book recently as I sometimes don't have time to read, which is a shame. However the book is about love, so I thought it would be a nice time to do a review around the Valentine's date as it's just a perfect time for it!

Let It Snow is written by three incredible authors, such as John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, together they've created a miraculous three holiday romances love story. The stories our based on one town named 'Gracetown' and it has been buried in snow, the worse snow in fifty years to be exact and we follow three romantic stories which is touching and filled with alternative cheer.

The Jubilee Express - Maureen Johnson

The first story we read upon is 'The Jubilee Express' which is written by Maureen Johnson. For me this happens to be one of my favourite stories of them all! When I read the last page of the story I really wanted to re-read it or demand for more, it was absolutely beautiful and it gave me such a lovey dovey feeling inside me that I just wanted to demand for more! I really liked how Maureen created Jubilee as a character, she's fun and really crazy which fitted the story nicely because it was pretty fun and crazy! This story has a magical ending and it was really cheery and Christmassy! Love it!

A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle - John Green

In John Green's story we meet three best friends, Tobin, JP and Angie, who goes by the name of The Duke. This story is a bit adventurous as Tobin and JP want to get to the Waffle House to see the cheerleaders which were on the same train as Jubilee that got caught in a snow drift. But as they drove to the Waffle House trouble was on the horizon. As trouble happened, I really liked how mischievous JP was when they were running away from the twins and he set up a trap! However the whole thing about the cheerleaders gets mentioned quite a lot, it got a bit boring in the end. This story has a beautiful ending because you really don't expect it! I loved how kind of laid back it was from the whole love situation, two separate people that have no clue but then feelings show at the end which makes it a beautiful story!

The Patron Saint of Pigs - Lauren Myracle

This story written by Lauren Myracle is probably not as good but one of the funniest of the two.
A girl named Addie is upset about her boyfriend Jeb, which you meet in Maureen Johnson's story. This story made me laugh because it was quite quirky, which is what I like. At first I was a bit confused about the title of the story but then I caught on to the pig and got it in the end. This story did lack a bit of feeling, I thought it was a bit plain and dragged on a bit which was probably a downer to the book but it was still a Christmassy romance so I enjoyed it mostly.

All in all this book was beautiful to read, there was so many different romances and I especially loved the first one. I like how it was based around all the teenagers in Gracetown mostly, like Jeb is mentioned in Maureen's story because Jubilee meets him on the train and then you don't hear about him until Lauren's story, so I like how you know a bit about everyone. I really like John Green as an author and I've read pretty much all of his books. I'm definitely contemplating getting a book that Maureen Johnson has written as I think it will be really exciting to read and I won't be able to put it down! However I've stumbled across Lauren Myracle's books before and I just can't get hooked to them which is sad because I would have loved to have seen what she's like as her own author.

I hope you all enjoyed this review on Let It Snow. I'm currently reading another book at the moment so if you want to see a review on that let me know! If you have any book recommendations I would love to know what you would recommend me to read.

Easy Valentine Nail Art

Hey Guys,

I think a nail art post is well over due! So here is a nail art design for Valentine's Day! It's so quick and easy to do so don't worry if you can't do nail art. I got inspiration off of Instagram from @nailsartvidss. I thought I'd do my own little version of it so follow my two simple steps and you will achieve this look in no time! These nails are so cute and will definitely top off your outfit for Valentines Day!

What you will need:
*White Nail Polish
*Black Nail Polish
*Gold Nail Polish (or silver if preferred)
*Purple Nail Polish (or colour of own choice)
*Top Coat
*Pink Dotting Tool/Hair Grip/Tooth Pick

How to do it:

1.) Before painting your nails make sure you've cleaned and filed them to the shape you want. Once you have done that go ahead and paint 3 of your nails the choice of colour you have chosen and then paint your thumb and ring finger white.

2.) After they have dried it's time to make the hearts! This is not complicated as it seems! Using the black, gold and the colour you have chosen for your nails, create little 'V' shapes with each of the colours onto the nails you have painted white, making them bolder as you create the V, you can make them big or small and can add as many as you like to your nail. I thought it was cute to add one gold heart to the nail as well to give it a more of cuter look. Then apply with a top coat to add a dazzling shine!
You should end up with something like this

And there you have it! In two simple steps you have created this cute heart nail art for Valentine's Day!

I hope you enjoyed my very easy nail art tutorial! Keep practicing and you'll do it in no time. If you give this a go please post a photo on Instagram, follow and tag me @jessicabeautyxox I would love to see your creations! And also a big thank you for getting me to 400 followers on bloglovin! So thank you so much for that! It means everything to me!
Have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post!

DIY - Valentine Love Bunting

Hey Guys,

How are you all today? I've been thinking about doing a Valentine DIY room decor post for a while now and I thought I'd share it with you today. It definitely wasn't hard to make either and I think I might make a few more room decor to make it feel extra Valentine-y!

So to make this cute bunting you will need:
*A4 Card/Paper x3 (any colour you like) Mine was 2 White and 1 Pink

How to make the bunting:

1.) Fold the first piece of your A4 card/paper in half and cut down the folded line using scissors. This creates 2 of the buntings already! So then you want to do this again with the other pierce of card/paper so you end up with 4 halves.

2.) This part can come across as being quite tricky, as you can see I struggled a bit as I free hand this but you can use a ruler. Basically you want to cut a triangle off at the bottom of each 4 of the bits of card or paper you have, so you get something like this.

3.) Using the other piece of coloured card/paper you are using, do the same as what you did in Step 1 but instead of folding the card/paper in half fold the card/paper into quarters.

Here's an example of the sizing

4.) One you have done that, follow the same again in Step 2. Once you have done that you should end up with something that looks like this

5.) You can go either way with this step, I chose to go onto Microsoft Word and use a cute style font for this but you can use any stencils or draw your own lettering, but if you'd like to do it this way you can! I basically just typed the word 'L O V E' spaced out like that and then changed the size, colour and style of font. What I like about doing this way is that you can be really creative and chose from thousands of different fonts to give it a personal unique touch.
I used the font Bookman Old Style font and sized it to 230 and used a pastel purple colour to go with the pink and white bunting. I then printed that out and cut the letters out individually.

6.) Once I had cut all my lettering out I then put together the bunting (shown in the picture) before sticking them, as this way if I didn't like something I could easily changed it. However I quite liked what I had already so I stuck all my bunting pieces together.

7.) To make the bunting stay securely on the string I hole punched two wholes at the top of the card/paper. I did this to all 4.

8.) After you have done that you then want to thread the bit of string/ribbon you are using through the holes making sure that the string/ribbon sits behind the bunting (as shown in picture) Once you have done that you are ready to hang your bunting wherever you like! I hung mine where my Winter mittens used to be but you can definitely hang it on your wall or even above your bed to make it look extra cute!

I hope you enjoyed this DIY post. If you'd like to see more of these posts then let me know! If you do create this I'd love to see your creations so tag me on instagram on my new blog account @jessicabeautyxox so I can see!
I hope you enjoy your week and I shall see you in my next post!
