August Favourites 2015

So we are back here again with another monthly favourite post. Where does the time go?! We only have 4 months left until 2016, that's crazy!
But anyway, how are we all? I hope you are all well and enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK. I've posted quite a lot this week which I'm proud of. I hope you enjoy my favourites :)

So these are my favourite products for this month.

*Nivea Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
*Nivea Purifying Toner
*Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm - Peach
I made a post a little while ago as to why these are my favourite products of all time at the moment, you can read about them here. They are brilliant products to use and you won't be let down by them.

*Make-Up Revolution Lipstick - Dazzle
I've got quite a collection coming along with the Make-Up Revolution lipsticks and a new one always pops up in my monthly favourites. This month I've been obsessed with wearing the shade 'Dazzle' it's a really nice subtle pink colour and looks absolutely amazing on your lips. I've been carrying it around with me everywhere this month and now it's become my most favourite lipstick.

*Make-Up Revolution Romantic Smoked Eyeshadow Palette
This Summer hasn't been as summery as we all expected! So cloudy days means smokey eyes. I've been loving the colours in this palette. Out of the 3 palettes I own I've mostly been using this palette, the colours range from nudes, purples to darker browns, suitable for days when the sun isn't shining.

*The Body Shop Frosted Cranberry Shower Gel
A shower gel from the Christmas range of 2014 used in August of 2015. I was going to save this until this Christmas but when I used it for the first time I just couldn't help but use it more. It has a lovely scent. Hopefully The Body Shop will bring this back out in their Christmas range this year as I will definitely be buying it. I bought the frosted cranberry and glazed apple last year. I used more of the glazed apple and then totally forgot about the frosted cranberry and here we are now in August writing about it haha and it's not yet finished!

*Wella Shockwaves Volume Mousse
My hair is naturally curly and this is what keeps my curls curly and gives my hair a bit more volume. I'll probably will never stop using this product to make my hair curly as it's the best one yet, all I have to do is wash my hair, let it dry a bit so it's still a bit damp and then basically scrunch my hair with this mousse and let it dry and I have amazing natural looking curls. Of course they aren't like curling iron curls, but it is natural.

I hope you enjoyed this months favourites.
Autumn is just around the corner and I'm so excited for what it brings!
I hope you have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,

Back to School Make-Up Look

Going back to school I had to always make a first impression, I had to make sure everything was on point from my hair, make up and even stationary. I've said before that the hype of going back to school is a big thing so first impressions are always good.
In today's post I thought I would share with you a make-up look that is good for going to school. The look is natural and is definitely suitable if your school doesn't allow you to wear too much make-up or any make up at all! Shhh ;)

A natural look that you will definitely get away with.
I do apologise for the lighting, one eyebrow looks darker than the other! They are definitely the same!

Before applying any of the make-up I cleansed, toned and moisturised.

To achieve this look I used:

*Make-Up Revolution Focus & Fix Liquid Concealer - Fair
*Rimmel London Skin Perfecting Full Coverage Foundation
*Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder (when do their lids never break)
*Make-Up Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit - Ultra Fair (Highlight only)
*NYC Brush-On Brow Kit
*Make-Up Revolution Eye Shadow Palette Iconic 2 ('Bootycall' Urban Decay Naked 2)
*Models Own Black Eyeliner Pencil
*Models Own HyperEyes Lengthen and Curl Mascara

Always forget something!
*Make-Up Revolution Nude Lipstick

What I Used:

*Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
*Lottie London - Powder Brush (blue)
*Lottie London - Blusher Brush (purple)
*Lottie London - Concealer Brush (green)
*Lottie London - Blending Brush (yellow)
*Lottie London - Angled Brush (whitey pink?)
*Eyelash Curler

The Lottie London brushes are amazing! I may have to do a review because they are really good to use! I actually have them all nearly. I used the blusher brush to apply the highlighter as well as the blending brush as I find it easier highlighting around the eyes and brows with the brush. I don't really know what colour the angle brush is :( it looks pink in the photo but it's not that pink.
I used the Urban Decay colour 'Bootycall' in the Make-Up Revolution Iconic 2 palette. I applied it using the brush from the palette. It's definitely an eye shadow colour that is subtle but also makes your eyes standout.
Make-Up Revolution Contour Kit is absolutely fabulous! I only used the highlighter in this kit just to brighten up the face a little.
I tried to make it as natural as possible!

As for my hair, it's naturally curly as it is in the photo and this is my second day hair hairstyle, the classic top knot bun! I've recently cut my hair short and I've been loving it so much.

I hope you enjoyed my post. If you liked it let me know on twitter @jessicarachelxo I'd love to hear from you!
I hope you have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,

Back to School DIY Weekly Planner

It's finally coming to that time of year when we start a new school year! And the only thing that I really loved about going back to school is stationary shopping! It just seems to be something that everyone loves, only this year I'm not going back to school or even college so I feel a little bit lost! But I shall continue stationary shopping!
As going back to school is coming up I thought I would make a cute DIY weekly planner. Everyone gets a weekly planner from school but it's also nice to have a separate weekly planner for other things, but this could also be useful for end of year exams as well! And it's fun and really easy to make and lets not forget that it's soooo sparkly!!

What you will need

*Plain white canvas (any size)
*Double sided tape
*Paper (any colour)
*Glitter paper (any colour)
*Fine liners and pens
*Sticky notes

How to:

1.) I forgot to include this coloured paper in the photo but I covered the plain white canvas in pink paper with glue. You can choose any colour you like for this.

2.) To create the title of the planner I used the pink glitter paper and cut a small rectangle out. I then places it on the canvas and moved it around until I was happy with where I wanted to place it. Once I had done that, I used doubled sided tape to stick it down.

3.) One I had the pink glitter rectangle, I then measured a smaller rectangle onto white paper and stuck the white rectangle on top with double sided tape.

4.) After I had the title sorted I was ready to start the days of the week. My canvas sadly didn't fit all seven days on it so I had to label Saturday and Sunday as 'weekend' but if you have a bigger canvas that is fine. I used small sticky notes to get the size of each square. I traced round them six times on the silver glitter paper and cut them out and placed them on the canvas and stuck them using double sided tape.

5.) I then cut out little strips of white paper for the labels of the days of the week and added small white boxes as well using glue to stick them down.

6.) Once I had stuck down everything and waited for the glue to dry, I used a fine liner to write the title and the days of the week in their boxes and then I used a small black marker pen to draw borders round them. I wasn't so sure about doing the boarders but I realised that it really makes them standout more.

7.) Last but not least, grab your sticky notes and get planning!

And that's how you make a lovely weekly planner canvas that sparkles :)
I hope you enjoyed this post and try it out, if you do I would love to see your creations! It will make a cute locker accessory as well if you have one, mine is just hanging on my cork board but you'll be so organised!

Don't let anyone dull your sparkle.

I hope you have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,

Why I Choose to Use Nivea

In today's post I thought I would share with you the reasons why I choose to use Nivea. I've mentioned a lot of products on my blog, but there's something about Nivea that will always win me over.

Here's why:

I was always someone that would buy a moisturiser of some kind, finish that and then buy a new moisturier of a different kind. You've seen it all over my blog where I've gone from Good Things to Clean & Clear. I just loved trying different products. However as my Nivea collection built, I think I might stay with them for a little while.

The products in the photo are my most recently used products and favourites.

*Refreshing Soft Moisturising Cream
This moisturising cream has Jojoba oil and Vitamin E in it. You can use it on the face, body or hands, but I prefer to use it on my face because out of all the moisturisers I've used, this one doesn't take ages to dry. It also states on the back of the product that it 'is quickly absorbed and refreshes the skin' which is 100% true. It's so soft and I actually feel moisturised.

*3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
I've always wanted to try cleansing water and when I received this product I was excited to use it! The cleanser cleanses deeply, removes make-up and moisturises in just one step. Brilliant. When I first used this product I was stunned by how much excess make-up was taken off after just using a wipe and now I can't stop using this cleansing water! I feel like my face is so clean. I'm using the cleanser for sensitive skin so it help protects against redness, tightness and dryness. If you are someone who has sensitive skin I definitely would recommend this product for you.

*Purifying Toner
After receiving the Cleanser I thought it would be best to also have a toner, as you should always cleanse and tone your skin, so I've been using the Purifying Toner for combination to oily skin. My skin differs from combination to dry/sensitive so my products are a range of those but I would say I am more combination. This toner tones and purifies the skin to remove oil and reduces excess sebum to prevent shine.

*Facial Cleansing Wipes
I've mentioned about these wipes before. I've used many wipes for dry skin but the Nivea facial cleansing wipes are definitely my all time favourite as they are gentle on the skin and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

*Nivea Creme
This little pot does so many wonders to your skin. It makes your skin feel lovingly soft and smooth, and it feels absolutely amazing. It's quite handy when you are travelling as it's small and I would highly recommend this product. It's a nice cream that doesn't leave you waiting ages for it to dry.

*Lip Balm - Fruity Shine Peach, Sun Protect SPF 30 and Fruity Shine Watermelon
Here's me going on about lip balms again. I can't get enough of them. I thought I would write them together as they pretty much all moisturie your lips. Nivea is definitely my favourite for lip balm now as you can tell that they are really long lasting. My all time favourite is the watermelon one as I've just been obsessing over watermelons all summer! The peach one is really nice to use as well, and of course on the Summer days I've been using the Sun Protect SPF 30 just for extra protection. They have so many more lip balms to try ahhhh!

I love all Nivea products. I'm someone who will pick up a new product and read on the back to see what it does, and Nivea is 100% truthful about it where as some other brands exaggerate or if you use it too often you don't notice the effects anymore.
I hope you enjoyed reading why I choose to use Nivea.
You can take a look at their website here to get the right products for you, or you can visit your local supermarkets, Nivea is near enough anywhere, which makes it good as it's not that hard to find. And shops tend to go half price or buy one get one half price, and you can't ignore that!

I'm really excited to announce that I'm going to Disneyland Paris in September!!!!!! Only 29 days to go! So for the next few weeks my blog might have a lot of Disney related posts. I'm crazily excited!

I hope you have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,

Models Own Nude Palette Review

Sorry I haven't been as active as I usually am, work has been taking over my life the past week and I've just manage to find the time to sit down and write a new post! So today I thought I would review the Nude Palette by Models Own.

So I've said many good things about Models Own nail polishes, only this time when I was shopping I decided to try their eye shadow palette. If you follow them on Instagram you'll know how popular they are. I decided to go for the nude palette as I didn't want to go to bold...not just yet anyway, but I definitely want to try their smokey and chrome palette. I'm not really the sort of person who does the smokey eye look etc I just tend to wear one colour all the time.

So what do I like about the Models Own Nude Palette?

I was really amazed at how all the colours came out with just one swipe of the brush, especially the lightest colour. I've only tried the lightest colours at the moment, as you know that I like to wear the more darker colours in the Winter.
So I've worn four of the colours already, and you can already tell that I haven't tried the last two darker colours yet.

So starting from dark to light, here's what I like about these colours

*I absolutely love wearing gold eye shadow on a night out. This colour is a bit darker than the Make Up Revolution's gold colour that I normally wear, but now I have a choice between a light gold or a darker gold.

*This colour is more my every day colour. I wear it pretty much every day. It's a nice nude colour with a bit of shimmer and it really brightens up your eyes, which is really good when you wake up early in the morning, it really makes you look more awake!

*If I'm feeling really summery (which at the moment it hasn't been at all) I like to wear this colour. This colour definitely makes your eyes standout, so if you're someone that really focuses on your eyes standing out then this is definitely the colour you should be wearing!

*I think I always use the lighter eye shadows on the days where I'm not wearing a lot of make up but still think I need to make my eyes standout a little bit more. Although this eye shadow can be a bit dusty compared to the others, so when I apply the eye shadow it tends to flake off the brush and either ends up in my eye or on my cheek :( the others don't do this though.

I took a photo of how the colours came out. I'm really looking forward to trying the darker colours! Even in my new Make Up Revolution palettes.

I hope you enjoyed my review on the Models Own Nude Palette.
Have you tried the Models Own eye shadow palettes yet? If so, which ones?

I hope you had a lovely weekend, and I shall see you in my next post,

Things to Do This Summer

Feeling a bit lost with what to do this Summer?
I've come up with a little list of ideas on what you can do this Summer.

So we are a couple of weeks into the Summer holidays and there's no way you want to be spending it sat indoors on your laptop all day. Take a break from the internet and embrace the world. My little list I've created is ideal for any ages, if you wanted to do them with your friends or if you're babysitting and struggling to find something to do,
Here is my list of things you can do:

You're more than welcome to print it off. These are just a few ideas I came up with, of course you can add to the list if you have anymore ideas.
A few other ideas might be:
*The zoo
*Go swimming
*The Cinema
*Ice Skating
*Take Polaroid pictures

Make this Summer full of memories, then when you look back to this Summer you'll be able to say 'that was the best Summer!'
I hope you find this list helpful and give you ideas on what you can do.
Nobody wants to be thinking about going back to school just yet, so make the most of it!
I hope you have a lovely day and I shall see you in my next post,

Jessica xo
